Membership Categories

There are two categories of membership that pay a subscription based on turnover bands: contractor membership and associate membership.

Contractor Members

The biggest proportion of our membership is made up of specialist contractors who, between them, represent 70% of the largest commercial drywall and plastering companies in the UK.

Our specialist contractor membership reflects a diverse range of trades, borne out of the craftsmanship of plastering and skill of drywall construction, including:

Traditional solid plastering (including heritage)
Fibrous plastering
Basic plastering
Roughcast, render and external wall insulation
Screeding
Drywall construction
Suspended ceilings
Steel frame systems

Members have excellent specialist knowledge and are skilled installers working to the required technical standards.  They work in all sectors, including: public and private residential, public sector, leisure, retail and on new build, refurbishment and heritage work.

Contractor membership of the FPDC is open to specialist contractors engaged in the drywall and plastering trades and who meet the membership criteria, as determined by Council.  Contractor members are encouraged to get actively involved in all aspects of the Federation's work.

Associate Members

Council, at its discretion, may admit as associates, any manufacturers, distributors and others engaged in the plastering and drywall trades, who could not otherwise become members of the FPDC.  Associates are entitled to attend the general meetings, but are not eligible to vote.
Honorary Members

Council can recommend any person to be an honorary member of the FPDC, in consideration of the individual’s outstanding service to the FPDC and to the sector.  Honorary members have the right to be present and to speak at all general meetings of the FPDC.

In addition to telephone advice, FPDC offers its members a FREE dispute resolution service. If workmanship advice or site inspections are required, the FPDC technical support service will inspect the work and provide you with an impartial written report. These FREE site visits are an invaluable service provided to members. No other association offers this service FREE to members (starts from £1,500 for non-members)!
