FPDC plans to open a new training school in east London aimed at providing training for new entrants and established workers in the drylining sector.
The new centre will provide dedicated training to the drylining sector, one of the fastest growing sectors of the construction industry and needing 300 new entrants every year.
The school, which will focus on the four core trades supported by FPDC; drywall, steel frame systems, rendering and screeding, will draw on Learning & Skills Council funding and will be set up as a limited company with charitable status operating as a subsidiary of FPDC.
At a special presentation in the City of London, industry leaders outlined details of how they intend to create a one-stop-shop drywall training school to recruit and train new entrants and also up-skill the existing drywall workforce.Click here to download the Training Centre Business Plan.PDF
